This wonderful, antique, circa 1889, heavy cast iron still bank was made by the Kyser & Rex Company. He was listed as a Pug, but we see a lot of Mastiff in his face.
This wonderful, antique, circa 1889, heavy cast iron still bank was made by the Kyser & Rex Company. He was listed as a Pug, but we see a lot of Mastiff in his face. The white paint used on his tail, around his collar, paws and on his “eyebrows” is worn, as you would expect on a guy his age, as is the yellow paint used on his eyes. Yet he still maintains a very dignified appearance. He sits 3 1/2″ tall x 2 1/2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide. The original screw is in place and tight. He would make an excellent addition to a still bank collection, or a unique and original desktop, decorative piece.
