This exquisite, bronze Dog award medal was designed c.1911, and is signed by Godefroid Devereese, a famous Belgian engraver and artist of the Art Nouveau period. Measuring 1 3/4″ tall x 1 1/2″ wide, it has a gorgeously detailed and raised, side profile of a Saint Bernard. It is signed by the artist in the bottom left corner. On the reverse it says: 3rd Exposition of the Belgian Kennel Club, Recognized by the Government 1911.
This highly collectible medal is in excellent condition.
