Perfect Mortens Studio Wire Haired Fox Terrier

This well- preserved Mortens Studio Wire Haired Fox Terrier is in perfect condition and super engaging as well! You can almost hear him bark, as he sits, open-mouthed, with his pink tongue curled. Oscar Morten immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a giftware studio in 1931 in Chicago. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautifully engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

This dog carries the Mortens Studio stamp and is, in fact, a flawless example of this designer’s art. Beautiful detailing and soft, subtle colors make this pup a treasure for collectors, or the perfect canine “friend” to grace your vanity, or desk.
