Vintage Carnival Chalkware Scottish Terrier Figurine with Glass Eyes

An authentic piece of nostalgic American folk art, this vintage 1930s–1940s seated Scottish Terrier carnival chalkware figurine measures 5 1/2″ tall by 5″ long by 3″ wide. Molded with crisp terrier character—from his upright ears to his expressive beard—the piece is set apart by its deep-set, realistic glass eyes and a lustrous glaze that enhances the vivid, hand-applied mustard yellow, turquoise blue and blushing coral highlights.

Due to the delicate nature of molded plaster carnival prizes, chalkware pieces in such excellent condition are increasingly hard to find. Chalkware collections are wonderfully colorful and whimsical, creating captivating displays while holding true collector value for lovers of vintage Americana and canine heirlooms.
