Presenting an exceptional, highly engaging addition for the advanced studio pottery collector or passionate Fox Terrier enthusiast: an authentic mid-century composition figurine of a pouncing Wire-Haired Fox Terrier from the celebrated Mortens Studio of Chicago.

Measuring 3″ tall x 4″ long x 2 1/2″ wide, this charming piece is a masterclass in canine expression. Sculpted under the direct artistic guidance of Swedish-born artist Oscar Mortens, it captures a terrier mid-motion in a classic, joyful “play bow” crouch, complete with an alert, upturned head, folded ears, and a perky docked tail. The hand-painted tricolor markings are beautifully vibrant under a gleaming high-gloss glaze.

Because of the fragile clay-and-plaster composition over an internal wire frame used by the Chicago foundry, finding an early model in this uncompromised, flawless condition is incredibly rare. This wonderful Fox Terrier is in flawless vintage condition (no chips, crazing, or composition loss; its underside features the clean, original hand-applied factory ink-stamp).
