This precious collie pup has the softest, most heartwarming look on it’s little face that you just can’t help but fall in love!
The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models.
Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.
This little beauty has one tiny chip on the edge of her ear, and another on the tip of her nose.
The colors are the Mortens signature pale, creamy yellow and soft brown. She measures 2 1/2″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 2″ wide.
Beautiful on its own, this little collie would also be a wonderful addition to either a collie collection, or a Mortens Studio Dog collection
