This lovely, vintage Majolica pitcher was made in Portugal. It depicts a hunting scene, with a Greyhound or Whippet dog serving as its handle.

Portugal has been producing fine Majolica pottery for over 120 years, and this gem is marked “Made in Portugal”, made most likely in the town of Caldas da Rainha, which due to the abundance of clay in its soil, has been declared as the unofficial center of pottery in Portugal.

Measuring 8 1/2″ tall x 5 1/2″ long x 4″ wide it is in excellent vintage condition, considering its age, with a small spot towards the top edge, where the paint is missing.

The size of this vintage Majolica pitcher makes it perfect for use as a large creamer, or especially as the perfect vase for a handful of greenery and flowers.

It would also make the perfect gift for any collector of authentic Majolica pottery, as well as a Greyhound or Whippet dog enthusiast.

Don’t forget our free shipping within the USA. All of our items arrive gift-wrapped in our distinctive “houndstooth” paper!
