This beautiful, clustered group of four dogs consists of four different breeds: a Borzoi, a Pointer, a Doberman, and a Pug. The detailing is extraordinary, and looks to be attributed to Franz Bergman, the owner of a Viennese foundry, who became popular for producing numerous cold-painted bronze figurines that were both colorful and whimsical, but with extraordinary life-like details.

Bergman’s foundry closed in 1930, due to the Great Depression, and then was reopened a few years later, by his son, and operated until 1954.

It measures 2 1/2″ tall x 4 1/2″ long x 2 1/2″ wide. Although its paint in worn off in places, the details are still sharp and the figurine is beautifully intact.

It is a unique and wonderful figurine that would be an amazing addition to any Vienna bronze collection. As a stand-alone piece, it can’t help but charm any canine enthusiast.
