This antique, pastel drawing of a Saint Bernard dog is truly magnificent. The artist has captured a very realistic look at this majestic breed, not only in her detailed rendering of the dog’s heavy coat of fur, and deep set gentle eyes, but also in her ability to capture the unique combination of strength and watchfulness that truly characterizes this breed.
This portrait measures 21″ tall x 14 1/2″ wide, and it is framed under glass. It is signed and dated by the artist.
The portrait is in excellent condition. The wooden frame shows its age with a number of nicks along the edges. It is still perfectly fine to hang, if you prefer the portrait to look its age.
If you have had the privilege of owning a Saint Bernard dog, then this amazing portrait will truly tug at your heartstrings.
