Mention Vintage Signed Scottie Dogs Print Grace G.Drayton c. 1930’s plus the item number ART-2116

This is not only a wonderfully engaging, early 1930’s framed print, but it is also a unique “peak” into movie and radio advertising history! Briefly, in 1930, R.K.O. pictures (and radio), brought the two men who had starred in their popular radio show, ‘Amos ‘n Andy’, to Hollywood to make a feature film, titled ‘Check and Double Check’. R.K.O. commissioned Grace G. Drayton, the artist well-known for her Campbell’s (Soup) Kids illustrations, to draw these Scottish Terriers. They were then printed on special paper and distributed as a promotional item for the film. Now that you know this, when you look at the expressions on the faces of these adorable dogs, you can easily see the resemblance to her drawings of the Campbell’s Kids! This 80+ year old print is in excellent, flawless condition. It is framed, behind glass, not matted, in a very simple black wood frame. The print with the frame measures 10 1/2″ x 14 1/2″. Underneath the illustration is the artist’s signature, the title, “Check and Double Check”, and “Courtesy of R.K.O. Radio Pictures. Whether you are a radio history buff, a Scottish Terrier lover, or a collector of unique art with an interesting story…this vintage dog print will truly win your heart!
