This fabulous figural Dog head is actually a vintage stamp moistener.

Made in Japan in the 1950’s, his wide open mouth contains the original red sponge, that was soaked in water and used to moisten stamps.

It is now quite solid, but it is easily removed to either be replaced with a fresh sponge, or removed entirely, so that this comical canine can be used to hold paper clips, rings,  earrings, or even a spare house key.

He measures 3 1/2″ tall and 2 1/4″ wide and he is in excellent condition.
