This adorable spaniel pup named “Butch” has been immortalized in this porcelain dog figurine by Goebel.
He is one of a very popular series of figurines, created by Albert Staehle, designed after his own dog.
This one ,entitled “Knowledge is Power,” appeared as the cover illustration (February 24, 1957) of American Weekly.
This vintage porcelain pup was created in 1958. He is happily tearing apart a book entitled “Train Your Dog.”
Measuring 2 1/2″ tall x 4″ long x 3″ wide, he is in excellent condition and embossed at the top “Stae 18” followed by the Gobel V backstamp with the bee in blue.
What sets this wonderful vintage cocker spaniel figurine apart, is that it also has Albert Staehle’s embossed signature on its underside.
