This sweet, Japanese Chin dog is a perfect example of “cuteness overload”.
She is marked “Erphila Germany” on the bottom. It was a mark used by the giftware importer, “Ebeling and Reuss” of Philadelphia between 1886 and the 1950’s. The mark is a combination of the letters E & R (Ebeling and Reuss), and the first letters of Philadelphia.
Her coloring is very beautiful. It is a soft black against a background of a glossy, crisp white. This coloring not only gives the dog dimension, it also adds a “softness” to the dog.
Her expression is quite engaging. She has piercing eyes that appear to be hiding a “smile” behind them, that adds immeasurably to her charm.
Measuring a full 4 1/2″ tall x 6″ long x 2 ” wide, she is in excellent condition.
As a gift for a Japanese Chin lover, or added to your own collection, she is guaranteed to draw lots of smiles.
