This unique figurine of Collie Pups was introduced as part of the Royal Haeger line in the 1940’s.
Eric Olsen, who was the lead designer at Royal Haeger between 1944-1972, designed this whimsical and delightful trio of Rough-Coated Collie pups.
Entitled “Bunch O’ Collie Pups”, they were almost exclusively done in mustard yellow tones, covered with an amber glaze.
They were issued in 1941 and retired in 1969. This fabulous collie figurine was one of the very few that were done in this high gloss ebony black glaze.
It could have been part of a “short run” of this color, or more likely done as a sample, or as a custom piece.
This rare mid-century dog figurine is in excellent condition. Please note that any white “spots” in the photos are due to the camera.
Measuring 5 3/4″ tall x 8 1/4″ long x 7 1/4″ wide, it is the hardest to find of Haeger’s Collie dog figurines.
The color, design, and whimsy of these vintage pups come together to create a truly unique, beautiful, and highly collectible piece.
Whether you are a lover of the breed, a collector, or an individual with an “eye” for decorative works of art…this “Bunch O’ Collie Pups” is hard not to love!
