This wonderful, seated Boston Terrier figurine shows every bit of character that this breed known as “The American Gentleman” is known for.
His bright intense eyes seem to be fixating on you, in a way that this breed, which loves human interaction, can do.
The designer of this Boston Terrier figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models.
Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.
Measuring a full 6 1/2″ tall x 4″ long x 2 1/4″ wide, he is in nearly perfect condition, with a small chip on the back of one ear.
He is one of the hard-to-find Morten Studio dogs, that is still in excellent ready-to-display condition.
Please note that we currently have a matching, standing Mortens Studio Boston Terrier figurine in stock.
