This exquisite Wein Augarten Borzoi dog figurine is reclining with its front paws gracefully crossed.
It has a high gloss finish in a solid bright white.
The porcelain is beautifully textured to show off this elegant dog’s natural curly fur, as well as the gentle, yet regal expression on its face.
Measuring 4 1/2″ tall x 7 1/2″ long x 3 1/2″ wide, it is in excellent, ready-to-display condition.
The Weiner Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten was founded in 1718, making it the second oldest in Europe. It is well known for the beautiful “whiteness” of its porcelain, and famous for its outstanding craftsmanship. Its markings include its standard blue beehive-looking production mark, as well as the #1713 model number. Robert Ullman (1903-1966) designed this particular figurine in 1936. He was considered one of the most important representatives of Austrian ceramists of the 20th century.
It is easy to see just how gorgeous the porcelain Borzoi would stand out, placed thoughtfully in your home.
With the holiday approaching, it would certainly make a wonderful gift!
