Art Deco Scottish Terrier Lamp
Circa 1930’s
This fabulous, Art Deco lamp features a sweet Scottish Terrier on the top as well as on two sides.
Very popular during the 1930’s – 1940’s, this Scottish Terrier dog lamp was most likely used as a night light. It is made of sturdy, opalescent milk glass in a cube shape, and accented with two different scottie transfers on 2 of the lamp’s sides. A small, painted metal Scottish Terrier is seated on the top.
The lamp is in great condition, considering its age, with some loss of paint on the transfers. There is some very slight paint loss on the metal scottie as well, but it is difficult to see unless you look closely. The lamp has a relatively new cord with a switch included. The bulb looks new, but appears by its style, to be original to the lamp. This charming Art Deco lamp is in perfect working order.
It measures 6 1/2″ tall, with a 3″ x 3″ base.
Collectors of all things “Scottie”, are certainly familiar with such lamps. This wonderful example of that popular Art Deco + Scottish Terrier style belongs in every Scottish Terrier Lover’s collection.
