This wonderful vintage folk art dog with his doghouse was handmade and hand-painted in the 1940’s.
It looks like it was designed to be used as either a bookend or a doorstop. Either way, it is quite charming.
Measuring a full 9 1/2″ tall x 7″ long x 5 1/4″ wide, it shows its age with missing original paint and worn edges. However, it still retains every bit of its vintage character.
The dog looks to be a Boston Terrier with a disgruntled expression. Perhaps it’s because he’s “in the doghouse.”
This folk art dog would make a truly unique and fun gift to any Boston Terrier lover, as well as a quaint addition to any “shabby chic” decor.
