This fabulous, vintage chalkware Boston Terrier dog dates back to the 1930’s. You can almost visualize the exciting sights and sounds of the boardwalk, where luck at a game won you one of these wonderful dogs.
Many of them functioned as banks. However, you had to break them to get your money back out, so there are not very many still around. This wonderful, Boston Terrier figurine is in such great shape most likely because he was not a bank.
This guy would probably have been chosen either by a young man, or for a young boy, because this dog’s characteristic “pout”, gives him just enough “attitude” to create enormous appeal. He also has a more “realistic” coloring, rather than those made in rainbow colors.
He sits a full 11″ tall x 7″ long x 5″ wide. He is in great condition for his age. His colors are still bold and beautiful.
