Conte & Boehme Dog Fairing c. early 1900’s

This whimsical porcelain dog figurine, captures the mischievous spirit of three dogs, two of whom seem to have found their way onto the parlor furniture.

Called a “Fairing”, such pieces were made in Germany and given out at fairs in England in the early 1900’s. This one, entitled “The Orphans” was very popular.

Measuring 4″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide, it is in excellent condition, beautifully hand painted, with 1887 impressed on the underside of the base.

This is a unique and highly collectible porcelain figurine, and the perfect dog lover’s gift.
