This charming pup must have kept children engaged for hours with all that he could do. “Buttons the Puppy with a Brain” has eight buttons, each controlling a different behavior. He blinks each eye, points his paw, raises and lowers his ear, wags his tail, and turns his head left, and then right. All of these functions work. There is also a “bark” button that appears to be battery-controlled.
While the battery compartment is pristine, even when we put in new batteries, he doesn’t bark. It does say on the inside of the compartment, that it requires two UM1 batteries. We tried regular size “D” batteries, and that could be the issue.
Buttons was made by the Louis Marx & Company, Linemar Division in 1961.
Measuring 12″ tall x 8″ long x 7″ wide, he is in great condition.
