Original Clara Tice Dalmatian Dogs Pen & Ink Drawing – Signed c.1920’s

This original, pencil-signed pen & ink drawing was done by the popular animal artist, Clara Tice (1888-1973. It is quite similar to her depiction of Dalmatian dogs in her book, entitled “ABC Dogs”, which was first published in 1940.

This pen & ink drawing shows three dogs, an adult dog and two puppies, along with the ball that the puppies are playing with. The entire picture is done in black & white, and a touch of bright red water color is added to the ball, the adult dog’s collar and to the puppies tongues.

It is an absolutely delightful work of art and whimsy. It is pencil-signed. It is matted and framed in a decorative, original, wood frame, under glass.

The drawing is in excellent condition. There is a bit of dust between the matte and the glass that could easily be removed with a bit of cleaning. The original wood frame has a few small chips, most likely, due to its age.

The entire piece measures 6 3/4″ tall x 9 3/4″ long.
