A Face EVERYONE Loves!
“I’m a little Bulldog short and stout, tip me over and my tongue falls out!”
Lovable Bulldog Collectibles
No one can mistake a Bulldog…large head, broad shoulders, droopy jowls, pushed in nose, and a very wide grin.
Yet although this dog’s physical attributes would seem to be standard, vintage and antique Bulldogs come in a wide range of appearance, and the artists who chose to draw, chisel, carve, or otherwise form them, took great creative license.
That does make some lovers of this wonderful breed frustrated in trying to find a collectible Bulldog that reminds them of their own “flesh and fur” buddy.

Want to know more about Bulldogs???
They got their name from bullbaiting. When that was outlawed, the Bulldog nearly became extinct.
They aren’t great swimmers, but boy can they skateboard! An English Bulldog named “Tillman” held the Guinness World Record for fastest 100m on a skateboard, by a dog. His nickname was “Pot Roast.”
Bulldogs are the most popular dog mascots. 14 NCAA Division 1 teams call themselves the “Bulldogs.” Yale has had 10 Bulldog Mascots, the most recent named “Handsome Dan.” Likewise the University of Georgia has had 10 consecutive Bulldog mascots, each one named “Uga.”
Presidents Harding and Coolidge were both Bulldog enthusiasts, with Bulldogs named “Old Boy”, and “Boston Beans.”
And although the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, once had a Bulldog named “Dodo”, he himself was known as the British Bulldog (and his favorite dogs were his two Poodles!)
As always, if you have fun Bulldog facts or stories to share, or pictures of your Bulldog collections, we would love to post them here, so others can enjoy them too.
